Our Shepherd Huts and Shepherd Cabins.....

Although each and every hut we build is completely bespoke, for a starting point we have 3 categories to browse.  Our Standard huts and cabins, that are ideal if you are looking for an empty structure to allow for your own internal fitting out.  Our Simple Comfort huts and cabins that are our more traditional and simply fitted range or our Luxury huts and cabins, which are our high spec fully fitted huts and cabins.

Within the 3 categories, we have both the Shepherd Huts and the Shepherd Cabins.  So what is the difference?  Traditionally a shepherd hut would have been approximately 12ft x 7ft and we started building huts around this size.  However, we found early on that the need for larger spaces was apparent and so started to build bigger huts to accommodate this demand.  From this, again to fulfil customers requirements, we looked at even larger huts.  Somehow, it didn't feel right to still call them Shepherd Huts, so instead we decided on the Shepherds Cabin.  Fundamentally they still have the romance of the Shepherd Hut, with the same curved roof and materials, but they also have the room to incorporate some very special luxuries and also space to accommodate families more comfortably.  Up to 20ft x 8ft are our Shepherd Huts and over this size we classify as Shepherds Cabins.

Of course, every hut and cabin we build, whether it is Standard, Simple Comfort or Luxury, always has the same fundamental quality of build, with the same materials used in the main construction of the hut and built to British Standards. It is the more the way they are finished that differs, which gives every customer the opportunity to have a hut or cabin to their preferred choice.

Each hut or cabin is built from start to finish by one team.  We have our specialist joinery team who build the windows and doors, but the rest is all built by each team.  All our hut builders are extremely passionate about the huts and cabins they build, and this passion is kept alive by building each hut from beginning to the end.

All our timber is from managed forests and is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved.  All steel is welded to the highest standard and is coated with durable chassis paint and of course your safety is important to us, so electrics are installed, tested and certified by a NIC EIC engineer.  All our gas appliances are also tested and certified by a Gas Safe qualified plumbing engineer and all insulation used is fire and sound proof.

We believe strongly in supporting and working with local suppliers and have forged strong relationships with many local companies wherever possible.  This also gives us the ability to offer excellent after sales customer service when replacement parts for items such as electricals etc are required.
